Heidi Van: Curator and co-founder of Fishtank Performance Studio

Van has enjoyed a career working as a professional actor at every professional theatre in Kansas City. Dubbed “the queen of dead art forms,” Van is best known for performing and creating pieces in the red nose clown style. She is a 2010 recipient of a Mastermind Award as well as a Charlotte Street Outstanding Generative Performing Artist and a KC Arts Fund Inspiration Grant recipient. Her most widely produced original clown play is The Coppelia Project: a clown ballet in three acts, which debuted at the 2008 Kansas City Fringe Festival.

SYNOPSIS: Before Sunday school, Tom spends some of the wealth accumulated by selling whitewashing privileges to acquire a sufficient number of tickets (awarded to students who successfully memorize Bible verses) that he can redeem for a brand new Bible. Tom has already demonstrated his familiarity with verses at the start of this chapter – and when he is faced with an impromptu quiz, the outcome is hilariously cringe-worthy.
