Brother John Anderson "The Buffalo Soldiers: Black Knights of the West"

The Kansas City Public Library celebrates Black History Month by hosting Brother John Anderson for three performances of The Buffalo Soldiers: Black Knights of the West at selected Library branches during the month of February 2012.

Brother John, a local storyteller, uses music and narrative to educate the audience about the life and times of the legendary Buffalo Soldiers after the Civil War. During the program Brother John will give an inspiring pep talk to his recruits (the audience) about why they should be proud to serve in the footsteps of the "Black Brigade" and such pioneering soldiers as Cathay Williams, the first and only female Buffalo Soldier.
