The Kansas City Public Library presents the award winning Coterie Theater for a special Friday Night Family Fun presentation of their Treasure Trunk traveling show, Friend Not Foe, on February 5, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the Plaza Library, 4801 Main St.
The story revolves around a young girl who discovers a mechanical being. He teaches her the wonders of being a robot and she teaches him the complexities of being human. The two characters encounter lessons of humility, experience misunderstandings, discover generosity and eventually learn to accept their differences.
The Coterie Theatre, a non-profit organization, established in 1979, plays an important role in the greater Kansas City area developing new generations of audiences for the performing arts with plays that reach a variety of age groups. Treasure Trunk is best for the youngest audiences and is very non-verbal to allow the students to imagine and learn along with the characters.
This will be an inter-active program. Audience participation is encouraged. Admission to the event is free. Call 816.701.3407 or RSVP online.
