ePay Makes It Easy To Pay Library Fines On Line
November 12, 2012
It's 3 a.m. and you want to download an e-book from the library. But there's a problem. Your account has been frozen until overdue fines are paid.
In the past you would have had to come into the library and pay in person. Or you could pay online by credit card ... except it might take two or three days for the payment to clear and for your account to open back up.
Now patrons of the Kansas City Public Library have an easier, quicker way to pay overdue fines and printing fees.
ePay is a web-based tool that allows patrons to pay late fees with a credit or debit card and have the payments immediately credited to their accounts. No waiting.
Library users may log onto ePay at www.kclibrary.org/epay or visit the Library Category box on the left side of the home page and click "Pay Fees".
At that point patrons can enter their credit card information (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover), see their outstanding fines, and view a history of their past transactions. Patrons can also pay fees associated with printing, document delivery, and special collections.
It's easy and its instantaneous.
