From Industrial Building to Ballet Center - Explore the Transformation of the Union Station Power House

Perhaps no architectural repurposing effort in recent Kansas City history is as dramatic as the transformation of the century-old Union Station Power House Building at 500 West Pershing Rd. into the award-winning Todd Bolender Center for Dance and Creativity.

The story of the building's evolution from industrial powerhouse to home of the Kansas City Ballet will be explored by BNIM's Steve McDowell and Rick Schladweiler and Kansas City Ballet Executive Director Jeffrey Bentley on Sunday, August 25, 2013,  at 2 p.m. at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St.

Their presentation is the final offering of Old Places, New Spaces, this year's Kansas City Architecture series.

Admission is free. RSVP at kclibrary.org or call 816.701.3407.
