Kansas City Star columnist Steve Penn gives the January talk in the Library’s Second Sundays with KC Columnists series on Sunday, January 11, at 2 p.m. at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St.

Penn is a metro columnist for The Kansas City Star and writes on a variety of issues facing the Kansas City area as well as some national topics – from happenings at City Hall to the American Jazz Museum’s 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award to the U.S. presidential election.

The 2008-09 Second Sundays with KC Columnists series features talks by some of Kansas City’s favorite newspaper columnists.

Presenters discuss some of their favorite columns, share previously untold stories from their years in the newspaper business, and answer audience questions.
