All Library locations will be closed on Monday, February 15 in observance of Presidents' Day.
March 12, 2014
Author Rachel Cantor helps local readers escape the winter blahs with a discussion of her debut novel, A Highly Unlikely Scenario, or a Neetsa Pizza Employee's Guide to Saving the World, on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library, 14 W. 10th St.
A Highly Unlikely Scenario - a selection in the Library's current Adult Winter Reading Program - dishes up an uproarious tale about Leonard, who operates a pizza chain complaint hotline and finds himself inundated with medieval Kabbalists, rare book librarians, and latter-day Baconians.
Cantor's resume includes an Italian childhood, French jazz festivals, and Australian food festivals. Her stories have appeared in The Paris Review, One Story, The Kenyon Review, Fence, and other publications.
Admission is free. A 6 p.m. reception precedes the event. Free parking is available in the Library District parking garage at 10th & Baltimore. RSVP at kclibrary.org or call 816.701.3407.
