To Host Public Reception To Celebrate Renovation
On Friday, October 17, at 4 p.m. the Sugar Creek Branch, 102 South Sterling, celebrates its recent renovation with a free reception open to the public.
Among the dignitaries scheduled to speak at the reception are Sugar Creek Mayor Stanley Salva, Sugar Creek representative to the Kansas City Public Library’s board of trustees, Fran Daniel, Library Director Crosby Kemper III, and Branch Manager Claudia Visnich.
The branch, in its existing location since 1998 serving residents of Sugar Creek and western Independence, has undergone an expanded renovation that includes additions to the book and DVD collections. Aesthetically, Sugar Creek’s floor plan has been altered, featuring a media room and young adult space. The entire interior has also been repainted.
