Winners of Young Writers Contest Celebrated at Kansas City Public Library

The 19th annual Young Writers Contest comes to a close with an awards ceremony hosted by the Kansas City Public Library on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 6:30 p.m.at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St.

All participants as well as interested readers are welcome; winners will be announced throughout the evening. Refreshments will be served.

The Young Writers Contest is judged by some of Kansas City's finest children's book authors and illustrators, and many - including Lisa Campbell Ernst, Jenny Whitehead, Pete Whitehead, Laura Huliska-Beith, and Brad Sneed -- will be present to greet the winners.

Co-sponsored by The Reading Reptile and the Johnson County Library, the deadline for contest submissions was January 21, 2012.
