Movies posters are iconic images that frequently make their way into popular consciousness right along with the movie itself. Can you guess the movie from the poster?
[5] In 1936 director John Ford [6] was sitting pretty in Hollywood. Now, he was told by Fox studio boss Darryl F. Zanuck he was being entrusted with the hottest star on the lot and Hollywood’s biggest box-office attraction: 8-year-old Shirley Temple [7].
[9] Here’s a sentence I never expected to read, much less write: Director Roland Emmerich has made a movie of ideas. And if his Anonymous [10] is a largely chilly and cerebral affair, it’s positively overflowing with brain-tickling notions.
[12] John Ford’s The Grapes of Wrath [13] (1940) spends two hours rubbing our noses in poverty and humiliation, yet somehow sends us off with hope-filled hearts. And it stars Henry Fonda [14] in his greatest performance.
