The Kansas City Public Library, in partnership with Truman Medical Centers, will host three health and wellness fairs over the next three months. All three will take place on Saturdays from Noon - 2 p.m.
On September 22, 2012, the Lucile H. Bluford Branch, 3050 Prospect Ave., hosts free cholesterol screenings.
On October 27, 2012, the Irene H. Ruiz Branch, 2017 W. Pennway, hosts free cholesterol screenings as well as vision screenings courtesy of the Lion's Club.
On November 10, 2012, the Southeast Branch, 6242 Swope Parkway, hosts free glucose testing as well as vision screenings courtesy of the Lion's Club.
A pharmacist from Truman Medical Centers will be on hand at each event to answer questions about medications.
