The Kansas City Public Library hosts two days of events as part of the 13th Annual Kansas City Storytelling Celebration. Nationally recognized and regional artists perform concerts and present workshops for children, adults, and families at the Plaza Branch on Friday, November 9, and Saturday, November 10, 2012.
Featured storytellers include: Michael McCarty, Megan Hicks, Angela Lloyd, Nancee and Mike Micham, Marilyn Kinsella, and Rosie Cutrer whose subjects will range from historical to multicultural. Some performances will include washboard accompaniment and Irish folk music.
Kinsella and Cutrerwill perform songs and stories (with banjo accompaniment) during Friday Night Family Fun on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kids' Corner of the Plaza Branch. RSVP at kclibrary.org or call 816.701.3407.
Or...if your idea of a good time is listening to a scary story then join Michael McCarty, Megan Hicks, Angela Lloyd, and Nancee and Mike Micham, for some ghostly tales, also on Friday evening from 7 - 9 p.m. in the Truman Forum Auditorium of the Plaza Branch.

The 13th Annual Storytelling Celebration is co-sponsored by Metropolitan Community College-Maple Woods, Missouri Arts Council, Kansas City Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund, and Arts KC.
