You are a writer. You may not know it, but you are. Everybody has stories. Unless you’ve been in a coma, you’ve been doing something. Even if you were in a coma, when you awaken, you have an incredible story to tell. I don’t recommend trying to fall into a coma for inspiration, though. There are a lot of methods that are far less traumatic.
Teresa Shockley, 16 years old of Kansas City, is working on her Girl Scout Gold Award Project: Reading for Recovery. The Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouts equivalent to the Boy Scout's Eagle Scout. Only 5.4% of eligible Girl Scouts get their Gold Award. This Girl Scout Gold Award Project encourages the use of reading to help those dealing with difficulties in their lives.
