All Library locations will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24 and remain closed on Thursday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday.
State Stats (statestats.org), a non-profit organization focusing on building free community service and education related web tools, has launched a site that's a search tool for over 3,000 free online college courses offered by noted universities such as MIT and Johns Hopkins. Referred to as OpenCourseWare (OCW) and started by MIT in 2001, these are courses whose content is published online, free to anyone with a thirst for knowledge. There is no registration or enrollment because the courses don't count toward any degrees or certificates, and the materials may not reflect the entire content of the courses. This site allows you to narrow your search for courses by university, subject, and date when offered. Broad subject areas include art, business, computers & engineering, health & medicine, and mathematics.
