Presented By
Rodolfo Marron III

Originally from Los Angeles, Rodolfo Marron III moved with his family to Kansas City’s Westside neighborhood in the early 1990s. In conjunction with the Library’s exhibit of his art, This is for La Raza, he discusses his Chicanx background and the inspiration he draws from home altars, low riders, Catholic imagery, slang, and other elements of his Westside upbringing.

Marron, one of the city’s most exciting young visual artists, was a Charlotte Street Foundation award winner in 2016. He completed Art Omi International and Fire Island artist residencies in New York this summer.

The event is part of a yearlong celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Charlotte Street Foundation. It is co-sponsored by the Charlotte Street Foundation and made possible by a grant from the Enid and Crosby Kemper Foundation, UMB Bank, n.a., Trustee.
