Storytelling Celebration

Friday Night Family Fun
The 18th Annual Kansas City Storytelling Celebration opens with a Friday Night Family Fun performance and a ghost-tales session.
Friday, November 10, 2017
Program:
6:30 pm
The 18th Annual Kansas City Storytelling Celebration features a lineup of lively stories, anecdotes, myths, legends, and lessons.

Opening the evening is a Friday Night Family Fun session featuring Lawrence, Kansas, storyteller Priscilla Howe, a performer with a bagful of puppets and a head full of stories. It’s followed by a 7 p.m. ghost-tales session – recommended for ages 10 and up – with three visiting storytellers: Scott Whitehair, who has brought his dynamic mix of vulnerability, humor, and insight to venues across the globe; historical character interpreter Sheila Arnold Jones; and Adam Booth, whose tales blend traditional folklore, music, and an awareness of contemporary Appalachia.

Co-sponsored by Metropolitan Community College-Maple Woods. For more details on the Storytelling Celebration, visit mcckc.org.edu/storytelling.
