Teen Photography Contest - 2009

Open to Kansas City residents, 13-19 years old, who are Kansas City Public Library customers, the Library Teen Photography Contest kicks off on Thursday, October 15. Original photos should demonstrate the theme Beyond Reality. Submit no more than two, either color or black and white. Submissions will not be returned.

Bring a compact disc to any branch or send photos via e-mail to: Director of Teen Services Crystal Faris at crystalfaris@kclibrary.org. Each submission must have the photographer’s name, phone number, e-mail address, age, favorite Library branch, and title of the photos.

The contest ends January 31. Winning images will be displayed during Teen Tech Week, March 7-13, 2010. Winners receive Best Buy gift certificates, and the Grand Prize Winner will be awarded a Canon digital camera.

The Gallery is an online showcase of artwork by teens. Do you have an original drawing, painting, photo, or other visual art to share?
