No less distinctive than the Bard's timeless text is the look of Shakespearean stage productions, drawing from the fashions of his Elizbethan Age and the 400 years since he wrote his plays. Shakespeare: Setting the Stage showcases a collection of costumes and sets from various presentations by Kansas City's Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, along with representations of scenes in which the costumes are worn. Sets are presented as both wall murals and small-scale models. The exhibit remains on display in the Library's new Rocky and Gabriella Mountain Gallery through the June 6-28 display of First Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare in the fifth-floor Missouri Valley Room.
