Friends of the Library
Since organizing in 1984, the Friends of the Kansas City Public Library have supported your Library through advocacy, outreach, and financial assistance. During National Friends of Libraries Week, celebrated from October 20-26, we recognize the contributions of Friends members to many Library programs and initiatives – Summer Reading, outreach services, naturalization ceremonies for new citizens, the purchase of materials for Library book groups, and much more. Learn more about the Friends’ impact and how you can become a member.
With the beginning of a new year comes the renewed commitment to shake up our usual routines. We tell ourselves we’re going to learn a new skill, take a class or two, strive to get exposed to diverse and different ideas, make healthier choices, take risks in personal and professional lives… an ambitious list of life-changing activities. Luckily, the Library is an ideal starting point to help you turn your New Year’s resolutions into real results.
