Behind the Scenes of the Tabulation

The campaigning is over. The polls have closed. The voters have retreated to their living rooms to catch the results on television. But for election workers the night is still young with much more to do. Representatives of the Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners explain what happens after your vote is cast. Voting memory cards must be collected, secured and uploaded into the Election Board’s system. Only then can the final results be calculated and the winners announced. This is one of a series of public forums on elections presented by the KCEB and the Library this spring and summer.
