Rhapsody in Blue (1945)
September is Classical Music Month, and with that in mind the Library is offering a lineup of free movies about those other long-haired musicians.
Robert Alda (Alan’s dad) plays the great American composer George Gershwin. Paul Whiteman, Al Jolson and Oscar Levant appear as themselves; Alexis Smith and Joan Leslie are the women in his life. “Rhapsody in Blue” and “An American in Paris” are performed almost in their entirety.
Saturdays at 1:30 p.m.
