The Library is your access point for computers, internet and training.

Tech Access is a collection of resources designed by the Library to help patrons learn how to use computers and other digital tools. Get answers to your questions about:

  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • The internet and email
  • Building a resume
  • Recovering a password
  • Building a website
  • Broken computer or phone
  • Settings on your computer or phone
  • Downloading and uploading
  • Filling out applications for a job, assistance benefits, healthcare, legal forms, taxes
  • and so much more!

The Library’s Tech Coach volunteers are available at multiple library branches. We provide guidance through one-on-one assistance via weekly drop in sessions, appointments or learning circles as scheduled.

Customized learning plans

Tech Coaches use digitallearn.org and other digital resources provided by the Kansas City Public Library to build an individual learning plan that helps you reach your goals or complete your project. Take our assessment now to help us start building your learning plan.

Proofreading

Send us your document in as an email attachment and we'll give you suggestions for formatting, grammar and structure. 

Study groups

Interested in taking a free online course with friends (maybe even friends you haven't met yet)? We've made it really easy to start a learning club (like, a book club only the book is an online class instead!) We will help find peers to join you, reserve safe space at the Library for weekly learning sessions, lend your group laptops and other equipment and even help with facilitation if requested.
