Kansas City Public Library is looking for an engaging, customer focused person to bring enthusiasm for service to all ages at its Trails West and Sugar Creek branches. This position serves as a primary contact point for customers using the Library, ensuring a positive customer experience by determining customer needs, analyzing and solving problems, and directing customers to appropriate resources. This position provides one-on-one library technology guidance and training, assists customers with library card accounts in person and on the telephone, assists customers with checking materials out and collecting fines and fees. Must have high school diploma/GED, excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact successfully with staff and public; excellent oral and written communication skills; intermediate computer skills; and competency in technology skills used in libraries. Physical stamina is also required; many duties performed while standing and bending; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or G.E.D. Salary: $12.25/hr. 16 hours/week: Tuesday 4-8pm (Trails West); Wednesday 4-8pm (Trails West); Thursday, 4-8pm (Trails West); and Friday 1-5pm (Sugar Creek). The position closes on 2/22/18 at 5:00 PM.
