The Plaza Branch Library is located near the Country Club Plaza. Free parking is available in the Plaza Branch's parking garage. There are designated children's and teen's service areas, as well as comfortable chairs and tables throughout the branch for customers to read, write, study or visit. Several meeting rooms are available for community or neighborhood meetings. The Plaza Branch has particularly strong collections in children's resources, arts & crafts books, and business materials. It also has large video, compact disc, and audiobook collections.

Test Proctoring

The Plaza Branch is pleased to offer a test proctoring service free of charge to students.

  • Proctoring is by appointment only. Appointments are available Monday–Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m. All testing must be completed by 5:00 p.m. No appointments are available on evenings or weekends.
  • These hours are subject to change based on staff availability.
  • Appointments must be made at least 2 business days in advance.

If an exam must be returned by mail, a $2.00 handling fee will be assessed. Exams requiring special handling (i.e. overnight postage or media mail) will be charged on a case-by-case basis.

All exams are administered in the library staff workroom.

Students will be required to show a photo ID.

Computer Repair

Is your device running slowly or having trouble starting up?

Bring it in and let us help you troubleshoot and diagnose the problem...for FREE!

Tech Coach Volunteers will be on duty to help you install and run free antivirus/anti-malware software to get your device cleaned up and running again. We'll help you find your device's existing troubleshooting support and run diagnostics. 

We are able to resolve most issues in these sessions but if we cannot fix your device, we will provide trusted local low-cost options for a solution!

If you need help with a desktop computer, please bring only the tower and power cord. No need to lug all the other stuff around since we will have monitors, keyboards and mice on-site.

No appointment or registration necessary. However, if we are unable to help you within the scheduled session, we will absolutely schedule a later appointment to ensure you get the help you need.

Join our 4-week peer learning group to build a great looking website using! Each week we will spend the first half of our meeting learning from an online course together and the second half working on our websites.

We will make sense of the subscription levels, use a template to design a homepage, create a site-map and more. By the end of this course, you will have at least a basic live website and know how to maintain it.

Join our Tech Coach volunteer team to help KC adults across the digital divide!

Make an immediate difference in someone's life by volunteering just 4 hours per month. Help patrons learn how to use the internet, create and use email, social media accounts, build resumes and so much more!

Build your own schedule. Morning, afternoon, or evening shifts are available at multiple locations, Monday – Saturday.
