Romeo & Juliet’s timeless tale of star-cross’d lovers adds an undead element in Warm Bodies (PG-13, 98 min., 2013), a romance between R, a young zombie (Nicholas Hoult) and Julie (Teresa Palmer), a girl who helps him feel a bit more human.
The 2016 Off-the-Wall film series  is presented by The Kansas City Public Library and The Pitch. Sample some locally brewed ales and lagers courtesy of Kansas City Bier Company.
This year’s series is part of an extended celebration of the Library’s Show-Me Shakespeare 2016 , revolving around the special June exhibit First Folio! The Book That Gave Us Shakespeare.
Doors open at 8 p.m. (Note: The Central Library closes at 5 p.m. on Fridays, but the doors reopen at 8 p.m. for Off-the-Wall audiences.) All movies begin at dusk (approximately 8:45 p.m.) Blankets and folding chairs welcome. No glass containers, please. In case of bad weather, screenings are moved indoors to the adjacent Helzberg Auditorium.
Free parking is available in the Library District parking garage at 10th and Baltimore. Bring your parking ticket for complimentary validation.
