An attorney from the ACLU of Missouri will speak to the teens about the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The attorney will give her background and talk about why she works at the ACLU. This presentation will then focus on students’ rights related to the First Amendment. Teens will participate in an activity where a hypothetical scenario is presented and then, as a group, we will discuss how the students’ rights are implicated in the scenario, what the students can and cannot do, and what the school officials can and cannot do. Teens will be encouraged to participate and ask questions throughout the presentation.
