Every Game Has a Story: The Sandlot on Friday, March 27.
The 1993 film is a small treasure, a sweet and funny coming-of-age story about friendship and fitting in, about kids and baseball and a beast of a dog (actually called The Beast) on the other side of the fence. The event, in partnership with the Kansas City Film Festival, opens with a brief discussion about the art of storytelling at 6:10 p.m., followed by a screening of the movie at 6:30. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
