The Main Street driveway to the Kansas City Public Library’s Plaza Branch will be closed for up to two weeks starting Monday, Sept. 13, while crews apply a waterproofing membrane.
The project is the continuation of waterproofing that began last summer and is intended to protect the parking structure located below the circle drive. The areas being recoated include the entrance lane from Main Street, the circle around the planter and the crosswalks.
During this time, visitors to the Library and surrounding businesses will be asked to use the 49th Street parking garage entrance. Signs will be posted and additional security staff will be available to help direct traffic for the duration of the project. The garage will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The sidewalks in front of the Library, as well as the neighboring offices and retail areas, will remain open. The Kansas City Public Library’s Plaza Branch is located at 4801 Main St.
