Art Starts at the Library

Gallery exhibits. A special dance performance. Kids’ activities. Munchies. The Library again makes a place on First Friday for the entire family.

Exhibits: The Genevieve Guldner Gallery offers Jessica Kincaid: The Beaded Image, spotlighting the beaded tapestries of Kansas City-area artist Jessica Kincaid. The Rocky and Gabriella Mountain Gallery features 50 of the most arresting images from pivotal events of the past year, winners of the 74th annual Pictures of the Year International competition.

Performance: Dancer Jeramy Zimmerman leads a small troupe in an Art in the Loop presentation of Inscribed, a dance theater piece portraying a journey of personal revelation through literature.

For the kids: Activities target modern art in its varied forms, from arts and crafts based on early-20th-century artists to music by early-20th-century musicians.
