Drawing from her new book Enemy Child: The Story of Norman Mineta, a Boy in the Japanese Internment Camps of World War II, award-winning Kansas City-area author Andrea Warren looks at a heart-wrenching chapter in American history and an inspirational figure who rose from it. Mineta grew up to become the first Japanese-American mayor of a major U.S. city (San Jose), a U.S. congressman, and secretary of commerce and secretary of transportation under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W.
