Photographer Yunghi Kim has trained her lens on some of the world’s most notable events of the past three decades, including the racial tumult in Baltimore last year. She documented the lives of South Korea’s Comfort Women, who were forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese during World War II, and was taken hostage by a warlord while covering the famine in Somalia in 1992.
 
In conjunction with the Pictures of the Year International exhibit on display at the Library through November 20, Kim discusses her work and spotlights favorite images from her 33-year career.
