Clubs & Activities
Join us for the debut of KC Memory Cafe, programs for people who are living with memory loss and their care partners. This month, we will get up close and personal with a few fascinating creatures from the Kansas City Zoo. We'll share information, discuss favorite pets and other animals, and enjoy free refreshments.
Memory Cafes are a worldwide movement with the purpose of providing a safe place to learn and socialize for people living with dementia and their care partners. The Cafes offer opportunities to meet new people, explore new ideas, and stay engaged in the community.
Co-sponsored by: The Kansas City Public Library, The Creativity Connection, Arts and AGEing KC, Prairie Elder Care, The Alzheimer's Association, and Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.

Are you a teenager who loves to read and has questions about sex, relationships, your body, and more? Come join us for a new book group, Sex Talk and Books, at the Plaza Library. This session we are reading “Boy Meets Boy” by David Levithan. This book is about teens who have crushes, lose and gain important friendships, and who are brave enough to stand up for what they care about. This group will meet bi-weekly for eight weeks to discuss the interesting lives of these characters and to learn more about sexuality and the many complex relationships we have in our lives. Each participant will receive a free book and journal. Dinner and snacks will be provided.
