Under general supervision of Branch Manager, provides reference, information, community referral, readers advisory and ILL and other basic library services to customers and teens in person and by telephone; participates in collection maintenance; assists with programming and community outreach; may maintain branch operations in absence of Branch Manager. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and experience working in a library or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary: $16.31/hour.

The Kansas City Public Library is looking to fill a Part-Time Library Attendant at our Waldo location. Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, the part-time attendant performs task related to the processing of materials returned to the library. Responsibilities include discharging, sorting, and accurately shelving library materials; reading shelves for proper order of materials; maintaining general order and appearance of the Library; straightening shelves, dusting; and emptying the book drop.

Under immediate supervision of Refugee & Immigrant Services & Empowerment (RISE) Outreach Manager, this position assists with the coordination of a branch-based path to citizenship services. The Coordinator will work with library staff to establish Citizenship Corners, coordinate citizenship events, oversee the development and implementation of the English for Citizenship program, and train branch staff on how to promote and engage patrons in the library’s path to citizenship pipeline.

Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, the Senior Technical Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating smooth implementations of client-side applications in the Library’s hardware and technology environment and supporting educational efforts. The senior specialist consults with server-side staff, advising on client-side application, to develop and implement information systems in the Library’s environment and may be involved in any stage of a project’s lifecycle.

The award-winning Kansas City Public Library is looking for an experienced, engaging professional Librarian to fill its Director of Branch Operations position. This position oversees eight community based branch libraries and supervises seven branch managers. Based at the Library’s administrative headquarters located in Kansas City’s revitalized downtown, the Director of Branch Operations is expected to work a great deal in each branch location. The ideal candidate will have experience working in and managing public library

Under the general supervision of the Youth & Family Engagement Operations Administrator, this grant-funded full-time two-year position will focus on building capacity for a volunteer storytime corps along with participation in other initiatives. This position will work collaboratively with other staff members and partnering organizations. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and extensive knowledge of early child development. Experience working with volunteers in a non-profit setting is desired. This is a two-year, grant-funded position.
