Under general supervision of Branch Manager: provides high quality library services to the public; plans, coordinates and organizes programming to a targeted population; reaches out to the community and collaborates with local leaders and area agencies; and assists with collection maintenance, including shelving and retrieving Library materials; becomes and operates as a Certified Passport Agent. Minimum qualifications include high school diploma/GED plus 2 years post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Under general supervision of Branch Manager, provides reference, information, community referral, readers advisory and ILL and other basic library services to customers and teens in person and by telephone; participates in collection maintenance; assists with programming and community outreach; may maintain branch operations in absence of Branch Manager. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and experience working in a library or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary: $16.31/hour.

Under general supervision of Manger of Central Operations, supervises customer service staff, prepares and works public service desk, and provides patron accounts maintenance. Supervises customer Service Staff; insures effective, courteous working relationship with all library customers: performs circulation control duties; assists customers with self-check; provides basic circulation and registration services to assure customers ready access to library materials: performs office tasks to maintain the effective execution of departmental activities:.

The Kansas City Public Library seeks a systems administrator for its Information Systems team. The position supports the IT infrastructure comprised of 250 staff computers, 450 Public Access Computers, and 50 Virtual Machines through an Active Directory 2008 domain. The position, reporting to the Director of Information Systems, collaborates with the IS team to keep critical technology systems running and optimized.

(Revised closing date.) The Kansas City Public Library seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to perform general maintenance of physical plants, equipment, and grounds at its ten locations. Duties include the repair and installation of electrical equipment, plumbing building equipment, and HVAC. Duties also include painting, locksmith responsibilities, carpentry and other interior and exterior maintenance.

Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, the Senior Technical Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating smooth implementations of client-side applications in the Library’s hardware and technology environment and supporting educational efforts. The senior specialist consults with server-side staff, advising on client-side application, to develop and implement information systems in the Library’s environment and may be involved in any stage of a project’s lifecycle.
