Celebrate Kansas City's rich jazz heritage by joining us for a Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon and jam session! You will learn about Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia, the anatomy of a Wiki article, and how to contribute to it.
We will focus on creating and developing articles that preserve our history from local jazz musicians, to the historic jazz clubs throughout the 18th & Vine and 12th & Vine districts, to the community leaders whose legacies continue to live on.
What to bring:
- If you are able, bring a laptop and a power cord. Limited laptops will be available for use.
- Your instrument if you are a musician and would like to jam
To participate in this session you don't need specialized knowledge of these topics or of Wikipedia.
Please create a free account at www.wikipedia.org before the event if you are able. We will have plenty of reference material.

Are you a teenager who loves to read and has questions about sex, relationships, your body, and more? Come join us for a new book group, Sex Talk and Books, at the Plaza Library. This session we are reading “Boy Meets Boy” by David Levithan. This book is about teens who have crushes, lose and gain important friendships, and who are brave enough to stand up for what they care about. This group will meet bi-weekly for eight weeks to discuss the interesting lives of these characters and to learn more about sexuality and the many complex relationships we have in our lives. Each participant will receive a free book and journal. Dinner and snacks will be provided.
