As part of the Park University Ethnic Voices Poetry series, poet Ada Limón presents This Big Fake World, winner of the Pearl Poetry Prize. The narrative revolves around a man in a grey suit (the hero), a traveling businessman in an unsatisfying marriage. Limón’s “story in verse” proves that the hero, his friend (Lewis the drunk) and a woman at a hardware store can remind us “that we have all come out of basic need, /some gnawing thing, some hunger.” Limón is the author of two other poetry collections, Sharks in the Rivers and Lucky Wreck.
