Westport Historical Society Speaker Series

The Westport Historical Society Speaker Series seeks to promote and foster public interest in and preserve the significance of local history. Title of Talk: Thomas Johnson's Story and the History of Fairway, KS Speaker: Joe Vaughan Join us at the Westport Branch Library on Saturday August 8th as we welcome author Joe Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan's most recent book, Thomas Johnson's Story and the History of Fairway, Kansas, offers depth and detail into Johnson that has not been revealed previously. Vaughan also takes a look at one of Kansas City's most beloved suburbs, Fairway, KS, and its role as the site of Johnson's Shawnee Indian Mission Historic Site. Joe Vaughan has been interested in history and current events all of his life. He has published 25 books since 1990, all concerning historical topics.
