Starring George Clooney as an inmate breaking up rocks at a prison farm who tires of the daily grind and makes a break for freedom. The only problem is he is chained to two other men who have to come along. This offbeat comedy features a blind prophet, a one-eyed Bible salesman and a few sirens.
While it doesn't follow Faulkner's novel so much, this movie has it all. In 19-year-old Lauren Becall's debut, you can already catch a hint of the fireworks that would go off between she and her well known co-star Humphrey Bogart. This film has it all, good screenplay, great directing by Howard Hawkes, good music (Hoagy Carmichael) and the French resistance of WWII.
A hilarious film about a 1940's Indiana boy (Ralphie) who dreams (and drops huge hints) of Santa bringing him a genuine Red Ryder 200-shot Carbine Action Air BB rifle. All he ever hears from everyone is, "You'll shoot your eye out!" The dramas of childhood bullies, tongues stuck on frozen poles, and a creepy Santa make for a rollicking laugh-filled movie.
