Individual Giving
Mission: The Kansas City Public Library is a doorway to knowledge for all people in our community
Philanthropy makes it possible for the Kansas City Public Library to deliver the best programs and services in the nation. Through your donations, volunteering and advocacy you champion the joys of reading, skill development, research and civic conversation.
There are many ways for you to make a difference!
You may make a tax-deductible donation to support the Library at any time by mailing a check payable to Kansas City Public Library Foundation or charging a donation by using our secure online giving form.
If you would like to discuss giving options please contact the Development Office at 816-701-3518. The Library welcomes gifts of any amount.
Greenwood Society
Annual donors of $1000 or more are recognized through the Greenwood Society. Members are invited to meet many of the Library’s featured speakers in intimate, small group settings.
Tributes and memorials
Would you like to honor a loved one? Consider a tribute or memorial; amounts are kept confidential.
Endowment and planned giving
Gifts to endow the Library demonstrate a fundamental dedication to the long-term intellectual and cultural vigor of the Kansas City community. You can help build the Library endowment through outright gifts of cash, stock, real estate or other assets, for example. You may also choose to include the Kansas City Public Library Foundation in your will or other estate planning. Only a portion of the fund's earnings may be spent each year in order to insure continual growth of the endowment over time.
Donations of materials
The Library may be able to accept donations of materials if they are in excellent condition and are an appropriate fit with our collections.
