Tributes and memorials
Would you like to honor a loved one? Consider a tribute or memorial; amounts are kept confidential.
Endowment and planned giving
Gifts to endow the Library demonstrate a fundamental dedication to the long-term intellectual and cultural vigor of the Kansas City community. You can help build the Library endowment through outright gifts of cash, stock, real estate or other assets, for example. You may also choose to include the Kansas City Public Library Foundation in your will or other estate planning. Only a portion of the fund's earnings may be spent each year in order to insure continual growth of the endowment over time.
Annual donors of $1000 or more are recognized through the Greenwood Society. Members are invited to meet many of the Library’s featured speakers in intimate, small group settings.
Your membership in the MVR Club supports strategic acquisitions that deepen the historical collections held in the Missouri Valley Room. Membership is $200 per person or $250 per household. Members receive insider updates, invitation to an annual reception to view new acquisitions, and a members-only Conversation and Connoisseurship event with a recognized scholar. Charge your membership using our online donation form and choose program designation "Mo. Valley history collections". Or mail a check payable to "Kansas City Public Library" to:

Donations of materials
Please visit the Friends of the Library to learn how to donate books.
The Library welcomes donations of materials and historical documents. Condition, processing requirements and space availability all contribute to decisions about the disposition of these donations.
Donations of substantial worth, such as rare books or special editions, significant personal library collections, art objects or equipment should be arranged through the Director of the Library or through the Development office.
In some cases such donations may require consideration by the Board of Trustees before acceptance by the Library.
