Ornate carvings of whimsical creatures and other ornament adorn the front of the sideboard. Framed: NoLength: 71 inchesWidth: 25 inchesHeight: 44 inchesDescription: The massive Baroque style sideboard is adorned with ornamental flourishes and whimsical creatures on the front side. The finish is dark in color and shines with an almost bronze quality. The sideboard contains two drawers and two cabinets separated by three columnal outcroppings. Across the front of the cabinet are a number of grotteschi: two cherubs, one shown participating in the arts and the other in literature; masculine, angelic, and monstrous faces; three figures, one masculine on the middle column flanked by two feminine figures on the outer columns and the heads of three creatures that appear to be dragons or oceanic serpent creatures. For being an auxiliary piece of furniture, this sideboard is remarkable in terms of weight and ornament.
