On Saturday, October 11, the Central Library is open to registered Heartland Book Festival attendees only. Regular services, such as hold pickups, public computers and phones, and public meeting rooms, will not be available.
The Kansas City Brass – a six-member ensemble comprised of Kansas City Symphony performers – offers a selection of holiday favorites from the sacred to the secular on Monday, December 8, at 7 p.m. in the Truman Forum at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St.
The Kansas City Brass is a brass ensemble with percussion organized in 1991. Its members are: Gary Schutza Jr. and Brian Rood (trumpets); Steve Multer (horn); Wyatt Henderson (trombone); Steven Seward (tuba); and Timothy Jepson (percussion).
Audience members may enter into a drawing that will award one pair of complimentary tickets to a Kansas City Symphony performance.
The Plaza Branch event is a Community Connections Concert, a Kansas City Symphony program that affords its musicians increased creative freedom thus providing a unique experience for their audience. These performances further the Symphony’s mission to advance and advocate for the art of classical music for the enrichment of our community.
