9:29: The Minutes that Moved Kansas City
The murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, moved the world and Kansas City in ways that are still coming into focus.
KSHB-TV anchor Dia Wall hosts a discussion between representatives of different communities impacted in the past year by Floyd in his deadly encounter with Minneapolis police. They examine the ripple effect those nine minutes and 29 seconds continue to have.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas headlines the panel, which also includes KCUR radio reporter Carlos Moreno; KC Police Department Capt. Jeffrey Hughley; protester Bukeka Blakemore; and Chrysalyn Huff, the owner of home furnishings and décor store RE.
9:29: The Minutes that Moved Kansas City is co-presented by the Kansas City Public Library, KSHB, and KCUR.
