Revered poet Molly Peacock conducts a morning poetry workshop in the Plaza Branch’s lower-level Cohen Center. The session, Scare the Sonnet Into Working for You, is open to writers of all levels. RSVPs are encouraged.
Later on Thursday evening, Peacock, a former president of the Poetry Society of America and also a noted biographer, essayist, and short fiction writer, discusses and reads from her poetry in a public presentation at 6:30 p.m. in the Plaza Branch's Truman Forum Auditorium. She also talks about the motivation she has drawn throughout her life from her motto: “In the attempt is the success.”
Both the workshop and evening event are co-presented by the David W. Newcomer IV and Gene Ann Newcomer Family Foundation Fund.
