Local historian Erik Stafford leads a presentation called Literacy & the Black Experience on Saturday, July 24, at 1:30 p.m. at the L.H. Bluford Library, 3050 Prospect Ave.
Stafford will examine the impact of illiteracy on young black males in Kansas City by drawing connections between literacy, incarceration, and mortality rates.
