People to People International (PTPI) and PTPI's Greater Kansas City Chapter (GKCPTP) invite you to join them for a special look at Cambodia and its efforts to eradicate landmines. PTPI’s President and CEO, Mary Jean Eisenhower and PTPI’s Director of Landmine Initiative Cindy Spake recently traveled to Cambodia to visit the areas where PTPI-sponsored teams are working daily to remove landmines from the ground. It is estimated that every 28 minutes someone steps on a landmine. In at least 70 countries around the world, lives are impacted by these remnants of war and conflict. Victims are not faceless, they are real people: a parent, child, sibling, friend. Someone already impacted by extreme poverty and further restricted from life’s most basic necessities of clean food and water, education, and the hope for a safe, brighter tomorrow. PTPI’s Global Landmine Initiative is in place to help eradication, education and aftercare.
