As lawmen escort escaped convict Frank Nash through the East doors of the Union Station to a car to be driven back to Leavenworth Penitentiary, the group is attacked by gangsters. The firestorm on Saturday morning of June 17,1933 leaves the nation stunned and transforms the FBI into a prominent federal agency.
